The RSCM Board
of Directors encourages and assists in the development of regional
activities to provide an evermore effective “local”
presence for RSCM members. The goal is to have VOICE for
LIFE activities as well as other types of events hosted under the
RSCM umbrella. When possible, regional center hosts are asked to
include some sort of VOICE for LIFE presentation even when
the main activity is not dedicated to VOICE for LIFE.
If you would
like more information on planning and hosting an RSCM event, contact
Board member Frank Boles
who will provide you with resources and ideas to assist you in making
your event a success.

RSCM International Summer School and Conference
- The 2008 RSCM International Summer School and Conference takes place in the beautiful, historic city of Canterbury. We welcome musicians, singers and clergy from around the world to a stimulating week of music, worship, practical activity, discussion and fellowship which will inspire the transformation of worship through music. Opportunities include:
- Daily services at Canterbury Cathedral, including a festival service directed by Bob Chilcott, compline by candlelight, morning prayer and evensong;
- Interactive workshops which complement the RSCM education programs: conducting, organ playing, cantor skills, vocal training and voice care, percussion, working with children, preparing for awards;
- Seminars on many aspects of being a church musician: Pray? I'm too busy leading the music, Music and healing, Musicians and clergy working together, The copyright minefield, Planning creative worship and liturgy, Broadcasting from your church;
- Exploration of new repertoire and liturgy: world music, Taizé, singing the psalms, the music of Bob Chilcott, gospel music, new repertoire for children, season by season; a chance to meet the new Director of the RSCM and discuss a vision for the future of church music with delegates from around the world; concerts and recitals, including the RSCM Millenium Youth Choir; a walking tour of Canterbury, and a gala dinner.
